Why Now
Simple. The need keeps growing.
We’re making an impact, but, we’re fighting an uphill battle. Behavioral health crisis doesn’t always occur between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., and the clock can strike any time when it comes to trauma and violence. The pandemic has really hit people hard, bringing more chaos to already complicated lives. Lost jobs, little to no income, and poor health are taking a toll on people.

United Way of Delaware: If you currently donate through United Way of Delaware, please use the following #12871 which identifies Amanecer Counseling & Resource Center as the recipient charity.
Appreciated Stock: If you own stocks for at least one year and a day that have appreciated, you can gift that stock to Amanacer. Benefits to you include avoiding capital gains taxes and a charitable income tax donation for the full fair market value.
Windfall Opportunity: If you had a large bonus, converted an IRA, or sold a highly appreciated asset during the year, then you may need a large tax deduction. This could be the perfect time for a large one-time gift, which may be carried forward if allowed.
IRA Charitable Rollover: If you’re at least 70.5 years old and have an IRA, you’re required to take minimum distributions. Making a gift to Amanacer directly from your IRA will not be taxable to you and will count as all or part of your minimum distribution. Contact your plan administrator to authorize a distribution, up to $100,000.
Estate Tax Planning and Bequests: Consider helping Amanacer after you’re gone with a charitable bequest in your will. That may also save estate tax dollars at the same time.
Please Keep in Mind
End-of-year tax-deductions
Your check must be postmarked on or before December 31. Making
a gift by credit card to Amanecer Counseling & Resource Center before year-end will generate a deduction in the year you make the charge, even if it is paid in the next year. All gifts of appreciated securities (stocks, bonds, mutual funds) must be transferred through your broker or delivered to Amanecer on or before December 31.
